Water Usage Tips

Use Low-Flow Fixtures

Your toilet, faucets and shower heads account for the majority of your daily water usage. You could decrease the amount of water used by these fixtures every day by upgrading to LOW-FLOW models.

Check for Leaks

Water leaks are the most common cause of an increased water bill year round. Even a small dripping faucet can waste over 100 gallons of water every day

One way to see if you may have a hidden leak in your toilet is to

  • Add several drops of food coloring into the top tank of your toilet. If you see any coloring in the toilet bowl you have a leak and need to replace your toilet components.

Other water saving ideas

Water your lawn in the early morning (before 10 am) to avoid evaporation

Use a rain barrel to collect rain water and water your plants with FREE H2O

Set your sprinkler heads so that the driveway and road are not being watered.

Learn where your water shut-off valve is. This can save your home from countless dollars of water damage in an emergency and prevent an enormous water bill due to an emergency.
