Planning and Zoning

City of Live Oak Planning Department Mission:
World class service which promotes and preserves the character and sense of place for the City, raising the expectation
for a standard of excellence, meeting challenges with genuine solutions, and facilitating results which will serve as a model for all to emulate and take pride in.

The Planning and Zoning office is located at the City Hall Annex, 416 Howard Street E, next-door to City Hall. Also in the same building is the office of the Building Official; Code Enforcement, Travis Shott and Community Redevelopment.

Standard office hours are Monday-Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  There may be times where all staff is in the field.  When that is the case, documents can be dropped off to the City Hall or City Hall Annex Receptionists.

This department only pertains to the incorporated portions of Live Oak which are in the city limits.  Questions relating to parcels outside these limits (except annexations) are to be directed to the Suwannee County Building Department 386-364-3400. ~Thanks~

The City of Live Oak has adopted revised standards which apply to all types of housing.
 
It is recommended that you contact the Planning Department prior to acquiring or sub-dividing any property, having construction plans created, or purchasing or securing any types of housing intended to be located, relocated, replaced or established, etc. in the City Limits.
