The City of Live Oak Has declared a local State of Emergency due to Hurricane Debby.

City Hall is now open. Please be cautious traveling roadways as we are still experiencing flooding in some areas.

There will be no garbage pick-up in the City of Live Oak this week due to the storm.

Trash pickup will resume on  Monday, August 12th 2024 garbage pick-up will resume and items will need to be separated as follows:

  1. Household trash
  2. Yard debris and tree limbs (tree limbs are to be no bigger than 6 feet long)
  3. MSW- white goods (appliances, metal items) and furniture

There will also be green trash bins set up at these locations for Live Oak residents to bring their household trash ONLY.  

  • Old Suwannee Pack off Cooper and Trailhead
  • 6th Street off Walker
  • Old Huffman and Gilmore
  • Behind Cheek and Scott in front of the Farmers Furniture

These trash bins will be in place only for Hurricane Debby clean up.

Mercy Chefs – Live Oak Church of God – 9828 U.S. 129, Live Oak

    • 11am – 1pm
    • 4:30pm – 6:30pm

Second Harvest will be dropped off water August 7 and disaster food boxes August 8 in the morning at the following locations:

  • Riveroak Technical College – 415 Pinewood Drive SW, Live Oak 32064
  • Dowling Park Church of God – 23500 NW County Road 250, Live Oak 32060

First Baptist Church has food distribution on Monday and Wednesday by appointment only.  Call Love Inc. at 386-364-4673 to get an appointment and then they will give them any other information that they need.  The location is beside the First Baptist Church (401 W. Howard Street) in downtown Live Oak, in the big red barn.

Mt. Gilead Church distributes food on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month beginning at 7:00am until they run out.   It is approximately 1-mile south of the intersection of US90 & Falmouth Road & ½ mile east off Falmouth Road.  There are signs once you get to that intersection. 

African Baptist Church distributes food on the third Friday of each month beginning at 8:30am until they run out.  They are located at 502 Walker Ave. SW, Live Oak FL, 32064.

The First Baptist Church of Live Oak Florida will be distributing 500 hot meals August 8th from 12pm – 1:30pm on a first come first served basis.  They are located next to the football field at 401 W. Howard Street in Live Oak FL.

O’Brien Baptist Church distributes food every 3rd Tuesday from 10:00am – 1:00pm.  O’Brien Baptist is located out 129 South to 349 on the right.  The address is 9544 CR 349, O’Brien FL, where you will see signs upon arrival.

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church distributes food every Monday and Thursday at 9:00am until resources are gone.  St. Luke’s is located across from the hospital in Live Oak at 1391 11th St. S.W.
